Earlier this year, AKA came out saying he had turned down offers from the EFF and DA to get involved in performing at their rallies. Now that he appears to be aligning himself with the ANC, some people aren’t too happy about it.
Following pictures he shared of himself at an ANC rally in PE, he noticed that people at the airport weren’t very impressed with him. “Strange looks from people in the airport while in my ANC regalia. Ironic, since ANC is the reason they didn’t have to flee this country,” he tweeted.
Of course it didn’t take long for Twitter to clap back with one user accusing him of supporting the political party because of the money he is getting in return for it. “I make more money in 30min, on stage than I’m being paid for weeks of campaigning,” he quipped. “So how can it be about money?”
And in case you were thinking of not buying his music anymore because he shook the President’s hand, he isn’t bothered.
The tweep hit back saying he still gets paid for it and makes connections from it that produce more endorsements, citing that they “pay well”. AKA was quick to question how he knows how much they pay.
To which the tweep responded, “Enough for you to get bothered by the fact that I brought this up”. And that was pretty much the straw that broke the camel’s back.
AKA clapped back with the state of his finances and life saying, ““I drive a 2mil Rand car, and go to sleep next to the #1 bossest b***h in te game… how am I bothered fam?””
