Lillian Dube is now a doctor after confirming qualifications

16 October 2017
Local actress, Lillian Dube has just received an honorary doctorate from the Tshwane University of Technology and we could not be more proud of the veteran television star. Dr Lillian Dube, as she will now be referred, was recognised for her contribution to South African performing arts.

After achieving success in over 30 years in South African entertainment, TUT granted her an honorary doctorate in Drama and Film Production. Speaking to The Sowetan, the university explained their choice:

"The honorary degree is based on your [Lillian's] contribution to the broad field of the Arts in particular and social causes in general."

Lillian herself could barely believe the news and she gushed over her latest accomplishment.

"I feel like I could wake up my late mother, she said to me while growing up that whatever work you do, do it diligently. She said even if you sweep the floors, make people want to know who did the great work. I have taken that lesson with me all my life. Whatever I do, I do wholeheartedly and these are the fruits."

Congratulations to Dr Lillian Dube! We are eternally grateful for the entertainment she's brought into our lives.
