Pretty much every black person is mad at H&M for featuring an ad on its website with a black boy whose sweater was printed with, "Coolest Monkey In The Jungle." Every black person minus the boy's own mother.
Terry Mango took to social media to weigh in on the situation. "That's my son...av [sic] been to all photo shoots and this was not an exception, everyone is entitled to their opinion about this," she wrote on Facebook. "This is one of hundreds of outfits my son has modeled... stop crying Wolf all the time, unnecessary issue."
It's a major plot twist in a story which was supposed to be about holding brands accountable when they represent individuals in their campaigns. Even famous faces chimed in, including Somizi, Minnie Dlamini, and Kwesta here at home to The Weeknd, Diddy and LeBron James abroad. Diddy even offered the young king a $1 million contract with Sean John.
Hopefully the mom wakes up to exactly what the problem is here soon.
