See Fiance Knowles fruit colour inspired Nike Air Force 1 collection

28 November 2017
Last week, we let you in on Nike's collaboration with local artists, Danielle Clough, aka Fiance Knowles, and Nokana "Dodo" Mojapelo on a new range of custom Air Force 1s in celebration of the iconic sneaker's anniversary.

Dubbed the Nike Air Force 1 Summer Salad Collection, Fiance Knowles' collection was first up for auction last night opening with a cool starting bidding price of R4 900. And it's just as well - through wool-woven patterns of threads, she added a burst of colour to the white canvas Nike gave her to work with on the sneakers. Each sneaker represents a particular fruit in the 'salad' and it's colourway reflects this. For some extra brownie (fruitie?) points, she was sure to add a mini pom pom to each kick. Peep the collection below.

The auction closed at midnight last night and all proceeds collected since it ran will go towards Zoo Lake's upkeep. Nike will host the 3-on-3 Battle Force Challenge there on 2 December.
