Spice Girls reunion might not be happening after all…

12 February 2018
The Spice Girls really shook up the world in the mid-to-late 90s. To put it into their own words, they spiced up our lives. They gave us hit single after hit single and dominated the airwaves as one of the most era-defining artists of the 20th and 21st centuries.
When they eventually split, it was a tough pill to swallow and fans have been secretly hoping for a Spice Girls reunion for the past few years. Early last week, it seemed as if the time for that reunion had finally arrived when a picture was shared to Instagram:

As if this didn't add enough fuel to the reunion fire, a statement they released to Variety Magazine read:
"The time now feels right to explore some incredible new opportunities together. We all agree that there are many exciting possibilities that will once again embrace the original essence of The Spice Girls, while reinforcing our message of female empowerment for future generations."
This prompted many people to start speculating around a possible USA and UK tour for the ladies but Victoria Beckham, AKA Posh Spice, spoke to Vogue and poured cold water over any reunion talks.
"I'm not going on tour. The girls aren't going on tour. It was so great to see the girls. We had such a fun lunch. It was really, really, really lovely. I still speak to them all individually, but for us all to get together was really lovely."
Well, it was really, really lovely but there you have it: there's no tour taking place. For now...
